  2. 2018 NCSEA Board of Directors Election Erin Frisch IV-D Director Michigan Dept. of Health & Human Services Office of Child Support • Michigan IV-D Director since 2012 – Engaging parents to improve children’s lives • NCSEA Board Member, VP of National Council of Child Support Directors, serve on multiple NCSEA committees, co- chaired NCSEA’s 2018 Policy Forum • Regularly asked to speak at both national and local levels • Graduated from James Madison College at Michigan State University with a degree in public policy. Spent 12 years in IT consulting prior to joining state service • When not brainstorming new ideas or creating positive change, you can usually find me playing video games with my son, dancing with my daughter, or watching baseball with my husband

Why are you running for the NCSEA Board of Directors • Service - Give to the community that has given so much to me. • Stewardship – Belief in the mission and a responsibility to care for what others have started and pass on to those who come next. • Passion – A deep love and respect for child support, NCSEA, and the people who work together here. • Special Interest: Proactively engage a diverse membership and design inclusive experiences for all members.

  4. How will you contribute to help NCSEA shape the future of child support? • Serve and lead the work of NCSEA committees. • Connect people and ideas. • Bring ideas. • Get stuff done.

  5. What are your accomplishments/achievements in child support? • Michigan’s IV -D Director going on 6 years. • Current VP and Incoming President of National Council of Child Support Directors. Have led mentoring committee, chaired monthly call of new directors, currently lead systems modernization and serve on public relations. • Current NCSEA Board Member, co- led NCSEA’s Strategic Plan process, Professional Development Committee, co-chaired NCSEA Policy Forum, serve or have served on Policy & Government Relations, E-Learning, and Affinity Groups. • Led Michigan to record high current and past-due support performance. • Outstanding Mentor award from MI Dept. of Health and Human Services. • Have worked in child support for 15 years.

  6. What will you do to help mentor and develop future leaders through NCSEA? • Initiated NCSEA’s affinity groups to connect folks who do similar work in child support. I look forward to supporting the expansion of affinity groups to a broader audience. • Be an accessible mentor/role model. • Bring additional ideas to connect with future leaders such as a formal mentoring program for NCSEA U participants/alumni. • Support and leverage new technology to connect NCSEA members. • Identify and support future leaders.

How will you help promote NCSEA to the child support community and public? • Contribute to national conversations around child support. • Cite and use the work of NCSEA in local and national conversations. • Steer others to NCSEA when they are looking for resources to learn and connect. Which specific child support issues interest you the most? • The perception of the program and how to “sell” our services. • Systems modernization and using innovative technology to enable us to serve families better. • Working with employers.   9. Candidate’s Closing Remarks – Vote for me because… • Integrity and ethics. I come prepared and keep my commitments, then get out of the way. • I speak my mind AND I listen to others and can adapt. • I build relationships. • I have extensive experience and resources to draw from. • I understand the drivers of NCSEA and child support.
