P/C Always Only You Date of Spill: 10 Aug 2018 Location of Spill: Montauk, NY Type and Amount of Product Spilled: 100 Gal Diesel Fuel Cause of Spill: Operator error. Other Agency Involvement: Harbormaster, East Hampton Marine Patrol, Sea Tow Concerns: Tourists and onlookers, adequate resources, geography, time, and other competing operational demands. Lesson Learned: Check your math when refloating. 4
P/C Bill Collector Date/Location of Spill: 18 Aug 2018, Norwalk, CT OSLTF Ceiling: $50K Type and Amount of Product Spilled: 3 Gal Diesel Fuel Cause of Spill: Sunk at the pier Other Agency Involvement: Marina Manager, Moran Environmental, CT DEEP, NPFC Concerns: RP resources, liability, salvage expertise, removing environmental threats, and scuttling suspicion. Lesson Learned: Plug all drains when refloating. 5

Date/Location of Spill: 27 Aug 2018, Bridgeport, CT OSLTF Ceiling: $10K Type and Amount of Product Spilled: ~10 Gal #6 Fuel Oil in waterway; ~1K gal recovered from soil Cause of Spill: Environmental elements Other Agency Involvement: CT DEEP, ATL Strike Team, EPA, CT Tank Removal, CG MSL, DRAT, NPFC Concerns: Dirt Job, Legacy Sites and Product, Civil Engineering, Hidden Hazards, complex jurisdiction. Lesson Learned: Open the Fund early. Unity of effort is key. Condo association should be considered a best management practice. DEEP has more funding 6 flexibility in terms of payment plans.
