Katherine ¡Backlund ¡– ¡2005 ¡& ¡2006 ¡ #127 ¡Managed ¡Forest ¡Land, ¡Ladysmith ¡ AIended ¡VIU ¡and ¡ received ¡a ¡HorUculture ¡ CerUficate. ¡ ¡ Went ¡on ¡to ¡complete ¡4 ¡ year ¡program ¡to ¡ become ¡a ¡Journeyman ¡ Carpenter. ¡

Katherine ¡Backlund ¡ • Developed ¡a ¡tree ¡ nursery ¡with ¡maple, ¡ cedar, ¡Douglas ¡fir ¡& ¡ Sequoia ¡seedlings. ¡ • Conducts ¡plant ¡counts ¡ & ¡surveys ¡on ¡ecological ¡ reserve, ¡S. ¡Island. ¡ • Started ¡Agroforestry ¡ fesUval. ¡ • Built ¡a ¡4,000 ¡sq. ¡S. ¡ house. ¡

Nic ¡Williams ¡– ¡2007 ¡ W1834, ¡Revelstoke ¡ AIended ¡Uvic ¡and ¡ finished ¡a ¡BSc ¡in ¡ geography. ¡ ¡ Following ¡this, ¡Nic ¡took ¡ an ¡advanced ¡diploma ¡in ¡ GIS ¡(Geographic ¡ informaUon ¡systems) ¡ from ¡Vancouver ¡Island ¡ University ¡which ¡he ¡just ¡ finished ¡this ¡past ¡April. ¡ ¡

Nic ¡Williams ¡ • He ¡is ¡currently ¡working ¡as ¡a ¡forest ¡/ ¡GIS ¡ technician ¡for ¡Azimuth ¡Forestry ¡in ¡Revelstoke. ¡ ¡ and ¡plans ¡on ¡finishing ¡the ¡season ¡(mid ¡Nov.) ¡ and ¡then ¡going ¡on ¡a ¡climbing ¡trip ¡through ¡the ¡ southern ¡states ¡with ¡his ¡girlfriend ¡KrisUna. ¡ • On ¡his ¡return ¡he ¡will ¡be ¡looking ¡for ¡a ¡new ¡GIS ¡ job. ¡ ¡

Nic ¡Williams ¡ • Nic ¡has ¡helped ¡out ¡on ¡his ¡families ¡woodlot ¡ since ¡he ¡was ¡a ¡kid ¡doing ¡stuff ¡like ¡spacing, ¡ pruning, ¡tree ¡planUng, ¡block ¡and ¡road ¡layout, ¡ and ¡mapping ¡work. ¡
