Choosing courses What should be considered and reflected upon? • Now a one year pathway. Reflect on S5, successes, challenges, changes? • Change of career destination. Reprioritise for this. • Taking the right subjects. – What am I capable of? • Which courses do I need for university/college entry and/or employment? – What do I enjoy? – Where do I currently experience success? Where did I experience success in S4? • Exploring all routes (YE provision). • Building your skills. • Is attendance an issue? • Very important: entrance requirements to employment, training, college and university. Research these at this stage. • What new courses can I pick up in S6? What courses can I revisit from S4? • Ensure you are as competitive as possible. • Work towards striving to ensure a robust SQA and skills portfolio on leaving school in June 2021. • Make the most of a dialogue with appropriate people, attend our careers fayre. • A mature approach to this process. Probably moreso than this time last year. I N F O R M A T I O N T E C H N O L O G Y S E R V I C E S C A L D E R S I D E A C A D E M Y
