  4. Support Tools • Each Service User is provided with a support plan / Risk Assessment. • We use the “Better Futures Outcomes” Tool to chart progress and identify goals • Each service user has a Keyworker from the moment they come to the service to guide them and be a constant during their stay. • We encourage the input of carers / family if possible • We also will be offering service users the chance to take part in shared training with the staff team on issues such as personal safety / food hygiene.

Preparation for life • Emotional and social support • Assistance with tasks such as form filling, shopping, cooking, washing and budgeting • Prompting and reminding on key tasks • Assistance with accessing other services • Money management and budgeting • Working with residents and social work in developing structured support plans

  6. Support • Stabilise lives and equip people with the skills to make progress and positive changes in their life • Alcohol - we help reduce harm, monitor and stabilise for assessment and provide expert support where support is slow or unavailable • Drugs – we help reduce harm and provide a non judgemental foundation to make good independent choices • Mental Health – Provide a supported environment with prompting on medication and appointments • Safety – We start again. A safe environment means people can leave their past and problems at the gate

  8. Staff Team • The team is lead by myself, I have over 15 years working for a range of services most recently managing an ARBD care home and helping to set up a innovative new service in Edinburgh which was a joint project between the NHS and Penumbra. I have also managed Homeless services and a range of Mental Health Services. • All staff are either qualified to at least SVQ3 or currently working towards this. The Assistant Manager is qualified to SVQ 4.

  9. Care Inspectorate Grading • We are registered with the Care Inspectorate and were last inspected on 3 rd June 2016 being graded as follows: • Care and Support – Grade 5 • Management & Leadership – Grade 5 “This service had made significant improvements since the last inspection, aided greatly by the effective leadership and management by the new manager. We were impressed at the improvements that had been made to the service, both in terms of the physical environment and the quality of support for both staff and service user.”
