  3. Project Background - RIT SPEX RIT Space Exploration, or RIT SPEX for short, aims to accomplish a few major things: 1) Inspire the current and next generation of college and university students to pursue careers in space technology related fields. 2) Develop novel technologies to address the needs of the scientific community and pursue various scientific goals ourselves for research and to sate our interests. 3) Pursue projects with CubeSats, NanoSats, radio telemetry, and high-altitude ballooning.

  4. Project Background - RIT SPEX ● RIT SPEX desires to gain a role in NASA’s CubeSat Launch initiative. ● RIT SPEX has formulated a basis for their vision, but lacks specific guidance for obtaining success based on past projects and best practices

  5. Project Background - CubeSats ● NASA’s CubeSat Launch initiative (CSLI) ● CubeSats are “cheaper,” loaf of bread sized satellites that are designed to be launched and operate as a network.

  6. Project Description - DPL Role Goal: ● Lay out “roadmap” for the RIT SPEX team from now until launch, based on other successful CubeSat projects. Objectives: ● Research project requirements and best practices from other universities ● Create 10 Year plan for RIT SPEX

  7. Stakeholder Summary RIT SPEX Team POC: Anthony Hennig - RIT SPEX President Potential Faculty Advisors: ● Dr. Jennifer Connelly ● Dr. Agammemnon Crassidis ● Dr. Dorin Patru ● Dr. Mihail Barbosu
