Results of German MORS monitoring in 2014 and 2015 (seawater and sediment) Stefanie Schmied, HELCOM MORS EG 6-2016, 24-26 May 2016, Uppsala, Sweden
Seawater results: Cs-137 Activity concentrations of 137 Cs in surface and bottom waters (marked in red) of the Western Baltic in 2015 Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency 2 (BSH)
Seawater results: Sr-90 Activity concentrations of 90 Sr in surface and bottom waters (marked in purple) of the Western Baltic in 2015 Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency 3 (BSH)
Sediment results: Inventory of Cs-137 Inventory of 137 Cs in surface sediments of the Western Baltic in 2014, sampled down to a depth of 24 cm Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency 4 (BSH)
MORS intercalibration sampling 2015 Sample Code: 2015237 Location: OBANK 54°29,97'N 14°40,03'E Salinity: 7.7 Sampling Date: 23.06.2015 Surface Water Vessel: SWRV DENEB Acidification: 1.2 liter of 6 M HCl per 600 liter of seawater Volume: 600 liter approx. Verification of homogeneity: sampling round and round for ten seconds, respectively Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency 5 (BSH)
Notes - Tritium: sampling successful in 2015, measurements still pending (problems with the low level scintillation counter) - KNiFC-PAN (potassium nickel hexacyanoferrate(II) based on polyacrylnitrile): another adsorption material for cesium isotopes usage equal to KCFC (potassium cyanocobalt(II)ferrate(II)) previous tests promising, still performing further tests publication of the results is planned for mid 2017 Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency 6 (BSH)
Thanks for your attention! Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency 7 (BSH)
