  5. What Is Peer-Run Respite? Header A peer respite is a voluntary, short-term overnight program that provides community-based, nonclinical crisis support. 5

  6. What to Know... Header Respite is completely voluntary and by “self referral.” All on-site program staff are people with lived experience with mental health issues. 6
