INTRODUCTION Rangitikei District comprises 4,500 Km 2 Population of 14,500 Total network = 1237 Km’s 783 Km sealed 454 Km unsealed 222 bridges (includes culverts greater than 3.4 m 2 ) Approx 4673 culverts 80 Kms Footpaths
ROADING TEAM Shared Services with MDC Asset Manager- Roading 3 Project Engineers: • Project Engineer – Maintenance (Engineers Rep) • Project Engineer – AWPT /Reseals/Emergency Works • Project Engineer – Footpaths/Lighting/Trees/Public Enquiries
CONTRACT • Contract awarded to Downers • July 1 2010 – June 30 2015 • Contract price is approx $11.4m that includes AWPT and Reseals as separable proportions • AWPT Programme approx 9 Km’s per annum • Resurfacing Programme approx 70 Km’s per annum • Footpath Programme – $85,500 (Maintenance) $80,000 (Renewals) $60,000 (Capital)
CONTRACT • The aim District Plan to have a footpath at least down one side of the street • Streetlights approx 1890 in number • The latest NZTA/Audit NZ audit of the network indicated that the network is in good condition • Concerns the affect Forestry Industry may have to the roads
