  1. PROYECTO NUCIF Webinar on Circular Economy Económia circular y valorisacion energetica de biomasa agricula: la experiencia didáctica de la Universidad de Foggia ¡ Prof. ¡MARIAROSARIA ¡LOMBARDI ¡

  2. OUTLINE ü Intensive Erasmus Program: EPROBIO and EQUI-AGRY ü First level of Master’s degree (after Bachelor’s Degree): Pro.Ge.S.A.Gi

  3. What were the Intensive Erasmus Programmes? Do these programmes exist in the Erasmus+ yet? Yes, they still exist but are included into the Key Action 2 (KA2) – Strategic Partnerships, transnational projects designed to develop and share innovative practices and promote cooperation, peer learning, and exchanges of experiences in the fields of education, training, and youth.

  4. Intensive Erasmus Program: EPROBIO 3 Editions ü 2010 ü 2011 ü 2012 http://www.iperasmuseprobio.unifg.it/ __en/default.asp

  5. EPROBIO: E nergy PRO duction of BIO mass in the European Europe The objective of this Intensive Programme (IP), the last edition held from 08 to 20 July 2012, was to provide students with a global view of the state of the art of biomass use for energy, following the Directive concerning the promotion of renewable energy sources of 23 January 2008, included in the package proposal called “20-20-20”. The course intended: 1. to examine the production of principal bio-fuels, derived from different raw materials, through a technical, economic and environmental assessment; 2. to analyse the most important innovative researches in this field.

  6. The participation of several professors, coming from different European universities, and possessing a strong scientific background allowed students to: Ø acquire a different, multidisciplinary and in depth knowledge of such topic; Ø learn the main methodology to assess the environmental and energy sustainability of the production processes.

  7. The course was divided into three principal sections: 1. Anaerobic digestion: biogas and bio-hydrogen production from different raw materials; 2. Biodiesel and bio-ethanol production from different raw materials; 3. Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology. The learning activities consisted of lessons, working groups, data processing laboratory exercises, and field works. At the course completion, each student wrote a brief paper about his/ her working group activity. The participating students received the acknowledgment of 3 ECTS at the end of the course.

  8. EPROBIO was recognized by the European Commission, in Februrary 2014, as the “ best practice” of all the Italian Intesive Programmes, on proposal of the National Agency LPP (Life Learing Programme)

  9. Intensive Erasmus Program: EQUI-AGRY Unique Edition: 2014 https://www.unifg.it/internazionale/studiare-allestero/programma-intensivo-erasmus-ip/equi-agry

  10. EQUI-AGRY: E fficiency and e QUI ty trade off in European AGRO energ Y districts The IP Erasmus Equi-Agry used the experience of the research platform of the STAR*AgroEnergy project (EU FP7), which aimed to develop an interdisciplinary approach to the study and design of sustainable agro-energy districts. This was possible through the inclusion of the researchers, involved in the project, in the teaching program (see professor and tutor page): in this way they could have transferred their expertise to the young participants.

  11. The IP addresses a maximum of 20 students: 5 from the University of Foggia (Italy – ITA), 5 from the National Technical University of Athens (Greece- GR), 5 dall'Ovidius University of Costantza (Romania-RO) and 5 from the Sapienza University of Rome (Italy-ITA). Students had to be enrolled at the Department of Economics or Agriculture - in the third year of a bachelor's degree or at master’s degrre and PhD course, concerning energy, environment, and rural development. A good knowledge of written and spoken English was required.

  12. The participation of several professors from University partners (European and Italian) with high scientific training were enable students to acquire an in-depth interdisciplinary knowledge of the subject matter, to learn advanced methods of technical and economic efficiency (i.e. Data Envelopment Analysis, DEA) and to become familiar with Geographical Information Systems (GIS). Some details: ü 10 Working days ü 75 Hours in total ü 3 ECTS ü Reports presentation of working groups and distribution of self-evaluation questionnaires ü All stay and transport costs for students and teachers covered by IP funds.

  13. Delivery certificates by the Rector of University of Foggia 10 Working Days 75 Hours in total 3 ECTS

  14. Pro.Ge.S.A.Bi: Progettazione e gestione dei sistemi agro-energetici a biomasse (Design and management of biomass agro-energy systems) A new educational inter-departmental pathway on bio-economy at the University of Foggia for the academic year 2014 – 2015. It was realized at the end of the experience of the STAR*AgroEnergy project (EU FP7), identified as a specialized professional course. https://sites.google.com/a/unifg.it/master_sistemi_agroenergetici/

  15. GOAL of MASTER SMART SPECIALIZATIONS New generation of public managers, entrepreneurs, consulters and researchers able to interpreter and manage the complexity of bio-economy systems, according to sustainability criteria.

  16. B i o - e c o n o m y i s t h e r e s p o n s e t o k e y environmental challenges the world is facing already today. It is meant to reduce the dependence on natural resources, transform manufacturing, promote sustainable production of renewable resources from land, fisheries and aquaculture and their conversion into food, feed, fibre, bio-based products and bio- energy, while growing new jobs and industries.
