  1. Proposed workshop: Computational modelling applied to ERF/MRF (Jan/Feb 2019) Eng. Sandro Scattareggia Marchese (PhD) – CEO Signo Motus srl 40th CapTech Materials & Structures Meeting – EDA, Brussels (BE) 24-25 May 2018

  2. Proposed Approach Potential research programme in the field of "Computational Design and Materials Modelling"  Key Area 1 : to develop/optimize computational Key Computational Design and methods, design and software tools for Materials Modelling Area 1 1 prediction of the properties and behaviour of materials, structures and particle interaction.  Key Area 2 : characterized by the experimental Key Materials Synthesis/ Production Area 2 2 phase necessary to allow the synthesis/production of materials.  Key Area 3 : to characterize materials obtained Key Materials Characterization Area 3 in Key Area 2 3  Key Area 4 : to design, develop and test target applications tailored to the military sector Target Application (Design, Modelling, Key (expected results of the research) based on the Simulation, Prototyping & Area 4 4 Testing) manufactured materials. Currently identified materials: ElectroRheological Fluids (ERFs) & MagnetoRheological Fluids (MRFs) . Additional materials can be added by the interested parties (e.g. shear thickening fluid - STF) www.eda.europa.eu 2
