OUTLINE OF PRESENTATION Policy Direction for PPP Agriculture Sector Priorities and Opportunities for PPP Proposed PPP Projects
POLICY DIRECTION The President reiterated in his first State of the Nation Address (SONA): “ In the agriculture sector, we shall be able to build grains terminals, refrigeration facilities, appropriate road networks and post-harvest facilities.” “ If we can establish an efficient food supply chain with the help of the private sector, instead of importing our food requirements, we can now hope that we shall be able to export our produce to the world market. ”
PRIORITIES AND PPP OPPORTUNITIES Self-Sufficiency in Rice by 2013 Generation of new & rehabilitation/ restoration of existing irrigation areas Provision of postharvest / bulk handling service facilities Establishment of production centers for high yielding varieties of rice seeds and other farm inputs such as organic fertilizer
