Who Are We? • 501c3 not-for-profit • Founded by former Governor Ernie Fletcher • Created to extend nationwide the Recovery Kentucky model ERNIE FLETCHER launched by Governor Fletcher Founder in 2005
Kentucky Projects HRSA-Funded ARC POWER Grant-Funded KORE- Funded
KORE • One in ten Americans have at least one addiction • Only 10% receive treatment • Clinics, health centers, and private practices seldom offer screening or treatment Funded by KORE, we provide the SUD screening and treatment patients need.
RCOE • Recovery Housing is unregulated and prone to fraud and abuse • Desperate families spend thousands of dollars with little to show • Rural communities in particular lack the funds and resources to respond Funded by HRSA, we're exploring partnerships in eight states, including 45 counties in Kentucky.
RCOE Target Counties
RHOAR • Lasting recovery requires meaningful employment • Which requires effective training and Social Enterprise • With a non-punitive, non-criminal approach that’s creative and personal Funded by an ARC POWER Grant, we help Kentucky bridge the gap between recovery and employment.
RHOAR Partners
What Is RHOAR Doing? • Working directly with six Recovery Kentucky facilities • Partnering with KCTCS to help individuals obtain high-demand industry certifications • Since August, we've helped 40 people gain employment while in Phase 2 of the Recovery Kentucky Program
How Do We Do It? • Facility staff, local KCTCS and SKILLS U staff, community partners and businesses form work groups at each location • To predict interest and training needs, education and employment surveys are completed by each individual entering Phase 1 of the recovery program • After Phase 1, they have the opportunity to pursue education and/or employment
Where Do We Work? Our grant covers all of ARC's Kentucky counties, with a particular focus on coal-impacted counties.
Barriers • Lack of transportation • Need to upskill for self-supporting job opportunities • Better communication with businesses to identify desired skills • Stable housing • Criminal record expungement
Resources and Opportunities • Resources to share with treatment and community providers in attendance to grow employment-related services • Opportunities for collaboration
