Power Plants ENKA as an EPC Contractor ENKA’s Power Plants EPC experience consisting of: 6 Coal Fired Power Plants with a total capacity of 4,070 MW 15 Natural Gas Fired CCPPs with a total capacity of 15,404 MW 6 Natural Gas Fired SCPPs with a total capacity of 2,836 MW ENKA constructed more than 20% of the fossil fuel fired power plants in Turkey. 1,600 MW Gebze & 820 MW Adapazari CCPPs – Turkey Natural Gas Fired CCPPs Built, Owned, Operated (BOO) by ENKA Location : Adapazari - Turkey Client : Gebze Elektrik Üretim Ltd. Construction Period : Apr 2000 – Oct 2002 Project Description : Following a build-own-operate (BOO) tender in 1997, the InterGen-ENKA partnership was awarded the right to build, own and operate the Gebze Power Plant with a nominal capacity of 1,600 MW, the Adapazarı Power Plant with a nominal capacity of 820 MW, respectively. An ENKA and Bechtel joint venture was the turnkey EPC contractor for all three plants. Each power island in these natural gas-fired combined cycle power plants consists of two combustion turbines / generators, two- heat recovery steam generators and one steam turbine/generator. In the Gebze and Adapazarı power plants, natural draft dry cooling towers serve each 1,600 MW Gebze & 820 MW Adapazarı power island. ENKA is the sole owner of the Gebze, Adapazarı and In 2011, ENKA’s Adapazar ı Power Plant was selected İ zmir Natural Gas Fired CCPPs since December 2005. as the Power Plant of the Year with an availability Collective annual generation capacity of 32 billion of 99.8 % by the Power Magazine kilowatt-hours are capable of meeting 11% of Turkey's aggregate energy consumption.
