Summary Installation of outer cables for phase 3 will be a very difficult and time consuming task - Estimate of 28 working days seems rather aggressive The presently available space (FWD) is insufficient for ~10x more cables Options to provide extra space between FWD endcap and CDC exist - Agree on and include neccessary actions in overall schedule - Increase of gap by 5mm would be sufficient - can we afford this? Need to understand / do - How much can be gained by modifying cables (locally remove plastic cover of power cables)? Can we tolerate the risk of damage? - Can IDS/TOP fixation screws be modified/exchanged ( / thin head)? - Perform survey of ECL end flange and implement shape in CAD model - Study feasibility of different options of end-cap support modification - Measure actual clearance between end-yoke and ECL-shield mounting links - Estimate impact of increased gap between barrel and FWD end-cap on physics performance 31.01.18: TB - Position of forward end-cap in Phase 3 15 carsten.niebuhr@desy.de
