It’s about wanting to dive into a joyful night-time world where you just have to float to keep upright, you glide to move around, and walking becomes absurd. It’s about wanting a taste of freedom. Going back to playing around. Being a ghost and coming back to life. Quite simply…”

  4. LA BAZ OO KA pILL O WGrApHIES CrEATI O N 2017 La BaZOOKa PrésentatiOn From their very first shows in 2002 by Etienne Cuppens and Sarah Crepin, La BaZooKa has aimed to shake up the spectator's place in the audience, through its use of both optical illusions and tricks of scenery. Throughout the shows, a reflection on the notion of freedom asserts itself : individual freedom, as well as freedom in the context of a small group, a community, or even within a couple. Today, through its latest works, La BaZooKa aims to develop and refine its unique approach to artistic expression, leveraging elements that have become characteristic of its repertoire, including: Navigating between fiction and abstraction Using intricate patterns involving many characters Awakening the spectator’s imagination Swinging between the visible and invisible Questioning social norms Seeking out the whimsical Look for lightness Sarah crepin She is choreographer and performer for la BaZooKa.
