UIC SPH Mission Statement The UIC School of Public Health is dedicated to excellence in protecting and improving the health and well-being of the people of the metropolitan Chicago area, the State of Illinois and the nation, and of others throughout the world. The School achieves this mission by: • educating scientists, professionals and the public; • conducting research to develop solutions to public health problems; • providing public health service; and helping shape public health policy.
History • 1970 School of Public Health established • 1972 Fully accredited; first class of 38 students admitted • 1975 Relocated from St. Mary’s Convent to 2121 W. Taylor • 1992 Organized into program divisions • 2001 Relocated to 1603 W. Taylor
