SPARX 2014 Paper Presentation (Date: 15 th September 2014) Call for Papers: SPARX-2014 Authors including graduate, post graduate student are invited to submit their papers for presentation in the event. The paper shall be submitted to the email


  1. SPARX 2014 Paper Presentation (Date: 15 th September 2014) Call for Papers: SPARX-2014 Authors including graduate, post graduate student are invited to submit their papers for presentation in the event. The paper shall be submitted to the email ID as per the template available on website. Papers focusing on the disciplines / themes are of Communication - Network Engineering, Computer Engineering , but not limited to the given topics are invited for presentation. The Two best papers will be awarded with Cash prize and Certificates. Area of Interest (but not limited to):  Network Security  Artificial Intelligence  Data warehousing & Mining  Cloud Computing  Image Processing  Nanotechnology  Robotics  Mobile OS  BIG Data  Wireless Networking Rules and Regulations  Maximum three (3) members allowed per team.  Any number of team from a college can submit their papers.  Participants have to prepare hard copy and soft copy of their paper according to template in the IEEE format given on website.  The paper length should be minimum 4 -5 pages, of the format specified.  Participant should submit their paper in .pdf format within deadlines as specified.  Papers will be reviewed by resource person and short listed for final presentation.  Short listed participants will be informed on or before 13 th Sept 2014.  Participation certificate will be given to all participants.  Presentations should be in power point presentation. Microsoft office 2007 and above only as per PPT template.  For the presentation a LCD projector, a computer and a mike will be provided.  Each team will be allotted 8 minutes for presentation followed by question / answer session.

  2. SPARX 2014  Any extension in the allotted time may result in the loss of points.  Please bring your presentation in the form of PPT. Any other form of the file will not be entertained. Please bring file in a pen drive (avoid CD / DVD).  The participants can include any type of media (pictures, video) in their presentation, provided that they do not show any controversial clips.  All participants are strongly requested to be present at the venue 15 minutes prior to the event Suggestions from the Team:  Participants are encouraged to make a conscious effort to maintain the quality of their paper in all aspects ranging from formatting, content and language.  Kindly make sure the labeling of figures, tables etc., are made appropriately, this will aid during the scrutinizing of the papers and will also avoid unnecessary confusion.  Make sure the references are suitably numbered and the references are quoted completed. Kindly refer to IEEE two column format provided in the rules and Regulations page for details on formatting of references.  Kindly provide your e-mail address and contact number besides your name in the paper that you submit.  For selected participants, while making the final presentation, please avoid using pictures as background for the slides, avoid using heavy striking colors / gradients as backgrounds and do not fill up the entire slide with long sentences.  Please give a lot of importance towards clarity of presentation, convey information as points (bullets, numbering etc.), using flow charts wherever possible, give physical interpretation template simple and neat.  Develop a good structure of your presentation, for example – you can structure it like this: 1. The problem being considered. 2. Why the problem was chosen (or what is the need to work on the problem). 3. What is the current scenario (or solution) for tackling the problem? 4. Why have you chosen your method as mean to solve the problem? 5. Description of the method 6. Explain your contribution and novelty your method. 7. Results and discussions (comparison etc.). 8. References  Keep the total number of slides to just the required level, a quick powerful presentation is always more worthy than a long, slow dull presentation.  Choose your number of slides based on the allotted time for presentation and always allow at least 5 minutes for question and answers. Things to be brought along with you for the presentation: 1. A valid College ID Card. 2. Two hard copies (print out) of their paper. 3. Soft copy of their presentation.

  3. SPARX 2014 Judging criteria The papers submitted will be judged on the following grounds.  Originality & Innovation  Technical Content  Clarity of Presentation  Practical application Paper will be awarded points based on this criteria and the decision is left to the Judge’s discretion. Format  As per IEEE template provided on website Submission Rules  In the mail to be sent, name file should be the title of your paper.  Subject of the mail to be sent should follow the format: <Paper - Title>  Ex. <Paper - A – Title of your Paper>  The name of the document should be The Title of the Paper.  All paper should be mailed to paper.sparx2014@gmail.com on or before last date.  This decision of the judges shall be treated as final and binding on all.  The organizers reserve the rights to change any or all the above rules as they deem fit.  Any change in the rules, if any, will be highlighted on the website and notified to the registered participants.
