Our Project Greenwood Primary School
Scenario Parents were shocked to find out that excessive use of touchscreen devices like i-pads and smartphones can hamper a child‘s development and lead to many harmful effects. Our group chose to work on task 3 as it allows us to design and invent a toy/game.
Task 3- Design & Invent ‘Go Green’ • To help parents save cost by designing and creating a safe, low-cost educational toy game for children to play with. • Our game is also environmentally friendly and cost effective as we used mostly recyclable materials to create our game. • Our game is aimed to develop a healthy lifestyle.
Why are we doing this project? • Make our own game • Try something different to challenge ourselves. • To achieve school’s Vision, Mission and Values • To develop the 3Cs (curiosity, confidence and cooperation)

Brainstorming Maze Snake and Chapteh Ladder Games Tic-Tac Toe Badminton Scissor, Paper, Stone
Survey From the games that we came up with, we decided to do a survey. The survey had 2 questions. 1) What is your favourite game? 2) Why is it your favourite game? The Top 3 Games are: 1) Maze 2) Snake and Ladder 3) Pick-up Sticks & Chapteh (Tie) Most students like the games because it is exciting !
Choosing our game • We decided to choose Chapteh because other groups were doing ‘Maze’ and ‘Snake & Ladder’. • We chose Chapteh over Pick-up Sticks because Chapteh is more exciting!
Modifying our Game Modification Reason/s for modification Using hands to throw instead of legs to We did it because we felt that not kick. everyone can play ‘ Chapteh ’ especially the younger children Included a score system Increase the challenge Change from a traditional ‘ Chapteh ’ to a Recyclable material paper ball. In the end, we came up with our modified ‘ Chapteh ’. We named it the ‘Paper Ball Toss’ game!
Criteria setting S/N Criteria C1 The game has to be safe. C2 The game has to be educational. C3 The game has to be low cost. C4 The game should be made of as much recycled materials as possible. C5 The game has to be fun and enjoyable

Why is our project innovative? Our project is innovation because we thought of different ways to use • recycled materials and put them to good use. We also came up with the changes to the game by ourselves. • We were also able to modify the game so that everyone can play our game. • Lastly, our project is cost-saving because we used recycled materials. •
