Our story Born of the Waihopai Valley, The Ned represents the vibrant diversity that is so prevalent in the Marlborough wine-growing region. One of Marlborough’s famous peaks, The Ned mountain served as the playground for Marisco founder, Brent Marris, during his youth. The ethos “Young At Heart” encapsulates this wine; a true expression of grassroots winemaking that places the energy and liveliness of adventure in every bottle.
NEW Our vineyards ZEALAND We have some key vineyards in the southern valleys, but our two major vineyards are deeper inland – in the more challenging and rewarding Waihopai Valley. Here, the typical fruit intensity of Marlborough wine is even more pronounced. While we’re restricting our range of varieties to those proven to deliver outstanding fruit in our region, we sought out vineyards that give us a great diversity of flavours. We like to give our winemakers not only fruit of exceptional quality, but also a rich BLENHEIM tapestry of flavour profiles to work with. The Ned is a simple Marlborough offering; focusing on what is so great about Marlborough as a wine growing region.
