PASS is an academic assistance program, built on the SI model, that provides students with weekly study sessions to improve their learning. PASS integrates: ◦ What to learn (course content) ◦ How to learn (study skills)
Reduce drop-out rates Improve student grades Increase graduation/transfer rates Provides a guaranteed study time and space Creates small, less-intimidating study sessions Promotes peer-to-peer interaction and group collaboration

Factors that could support institutionalization of PASS The program’s success to this point Title III grant proposal identified this program for institutionalization (a federal goal to keep what is working) GWC academic senate’s recent ranking of Learning Resources position at #8 (now up to #5 based on hiring this spring) Possibility of supporting PASS with funding sources such as general fund, student equity, noncredit, etc…
