36 additional Online Peer Reviews were conducted Spring 2017 A total of 178 faculty members reviewed total Peer For SP17, there was a 75% success rate for classes who underwent Reviews the peer review process, compared to 68% success rate for sections that did not. & Fall 2017 Peer Reviews will conclude the initial round of reviewing Peer all online faculty. Substantive Interaction in Distance Education Criteria to Meet the Definition of “Substantive Interaction” Interactions must be initiated by the instructor Student Most of these interactions should be done within Falcon Online (i.e. Assignments, Quizzes, Discussions, Gradebook) Engagement Interactions must be “regular” and somewhat frequent in Minimum of once weekly Online Interaction must be “substantive” – of an academic nature More than "good job," provides substantive feedback Courses Meeting this benchmark of “regular and substantive interaction” in distance education directly impacts our ability to receive federal financial aid, per the U.S. Dept. of Education regulations.
