Kenmore Leg restriping Eastbound/Northbound direction of Kenmore Leg restriped last weekend to accommodate three lanes of traffic. Westbound/Southbound direction scheduled for this weekend. Will also be three lanes. I-76/Kenmore Leg westbound to be closed this weekend from Friday evening through early Monday morning. 3 Downtown Akron Partnership
I-76 bridge repairs Project will continue through summer to make bridge repairs including joint repairs and bridge deck overlays. All work west of I-77/Central Interchange is completed. Lane restrictions and weekend ramp closures to occur from I-77/Central Interchange to the Portage County line. Completion date late October 2016. 4 Downtown Akron Partnership

$84.2 million project awarded in May. Project will reconfigure the one way condition of Main St. and Broadway St. into a new bi-directional Main St. Reconstruct entrance and exit ramps at I-76 and Main/Broadway. Shelly and Sands from Zanesville, is prime contractor Pre-construction meeting to be held in mid-July. Work anticipated to begin in early August. Total completion date is July 2020. 9 Downtown Akron Partnership
2016 Primary focus will be to replace Wolf Ledges Parkway over I-76. (180 day closure). Permanently closing I-76 eastbound exit ramp to Wolf Ledges in mid-November. Begin reconstruction of Main St. between Bartges St. and Miller St. (Two lanes of traffic maintained). Performing water line and sewer line work on Main St. 10 Downtown Akron Partnership
2017 Main Street reconstruction continues. (Two lanes maintained during peak travel times). Grant St. bridge over I-76 reconstructed. (180 day closure) I-76 westbound exit to Grant St. and I-76 eastbound entrance ramp from Grant St. will be permanently closed. I-76 eastbound exit to Main St. will be reconstructed. 2018 Newly constructed Main St. should be completed by July 2018. Traffic on Broadway St. will begin utilizing Main St. I-76 eastbound pavement reconstruction will occur. (Potentially could begin late 2017) Traffic on I-76 eastbound will switch over to I-76 westbound and two lanes of traffic will be maintained in each direction. 12 Downtown Akron Partnership
2018 Ramp from I-76 east to I-77 south and from I-77 northbound to I-76 westbound will be closed for one year. Southbound Main St. ramp to I-76 eastbound and the northbound Broadway St. ramp to I-76 eastbound will be closed for approximately 180 days. 2019 I-76 westbound pavement reconstruction will occur. Traffic on I-76 westbound will switch over to I-76 eastbound and two lanes of traffic will be maintained in each direction. Ramp from I-76 westbound to Main St. will be closed for a 14 day period. Ramp from Main St. to I-76 westbound will be closed for 365 days. 14 Downtown Akron Partnership
