  3. Wyoming Ag Statistics • Cattle led the way in 2017 in terms of value of production at more than $897 million. • Cattle and calves inventory on January 1, 2018 totaled 1.32 million head with an inventory value of $1.75 billion.

There are six local health departments in Wyoming (the counties of Laramie, Natrona, Teton, Sweetwater, and Sublette, and the city of Laramie).

Wyoming Beef Council • Responsible for the collection and expenditure of the beef checkoff in Wyoming • Serves Wyoming's beef industry by promoting beef nationally and internationally • Focuses on the sustainability of the beef industry and increasing profit opportunities for cattle producers by creating a favorable business climate for beef

Wyoming Wheat Commission • Develops and maintains wheat markets in the national and global marketing of wheat while partnering with the National Association of Wheat Growers and United States • Supports local sampling and quality testing of wheat • Provides producer education and research • Maintains communication among producers, agencies and other entities involved with wheat production and wheat marketing.
