Observations Parable of the Ten Virgins • Be prepared for the day of the Lord -Each person has a limited amount of time • Someone else’s readiness or faith does you no good
Observations Parable of the Talents • We are responsible to do something with what we have been given • The Talents in this parable can be representative of many things in our life but they are specifically representing God’s message of salvation to us
Observations The Sheep and Goats • Jesus equates serving others as serving Him -James 1:27, Colossians 3:23-24, John 14:15 • Our righteousness which is given graciously to us through our faith lives out through our actions -James 2:14-26, Romans 3:20-26
Final Points Matthew 25 • Jesus contrasts the life of someone who is prepared, faithful, and has a relationship with God to someone who is unprepared, a poor steward, and has no relationship with God • The difference between those who had a relationship with God and those who did not were contrasted by the actions they took
