  4. The Beach Chalet was designed by Willis Polk for the City of San Francisco and completed in 1925, to provide facilities for beach goers. In 1936, WPA money was obtained to hire Lucien Labaudt to create murals depicting life in San Francisco and other artist to craft wonderful mosaics.   10. SFMYC was founded in 1898 at Stow Lake. Their members lobbied for their own lake, and in 1904 Speckels Lake was created as a reservoir & club facility. Current clubhouse was built by the WPA in 1938-39, opened in 1940

  14. Strybing Arboretum Once the Strybing Trust was made available, Eric Walther was appointed the first director of the San Francisco Botanical Garden in 1937. Working in collaboration with John McLaren, they laid out the initial plan for the pubic use of the Botanical Garden. I was designed to be a global Eric Walther with Blooming Magnolia campbellii collections including Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Chile, China, the Himalayas, Japan, Mexico, South Africa and California.
