  13. LCPD MARCH 2018 CRIME PREVENTION REPORT COMMUNITY AWARENESS TIPS ON HOW TO PREVENT AUTO BURGLARIES and AUTO THEFTS: The Lakeview Crime Prevention District Officers alone have made over 500 arrests in 2016 and 2017 combined. Arresting offenders is only a temporary solution to a universal problem which plagues communities throughout the country. Even with the high visibility LCPD patrols provide, crimes are events of opportunity and will occur if conditions are favorable to the offender. In an effort to ensure you do not become a victim of auto burglary or auto theft, please remove valued property from your vehicles that may be in plain view, remove firearms, remove spare keys from automobiles, and by all means, keep your vehicle doors locked at all times. These safety measures will help prevent crime and make Lakeview a safer community. Again……………………………………………………………………………………………………………. Please lock your car doors and help prevent crime in your neighborhood and report all suspicious activity. 12 | P a g e
