  16. BTS -- Charitable Gift Annuity 1. Fund annuity with a minimum of $10,000 in cash or appreciated securities; 2. Become a member of the Bartlett Tower Society; 3. Collect fixed payments for life, with the annual payout rate determined by your age; 4. Receive an income tax deduction in the year the annuity is established; 5. The value is removed from your estate for estate and gift tax purposes; and, 6. After your lifetime, the remaining assets are transferred to Dartmouth. 16
