Courses & Programmes
General English General English is an intensive programme designed for students who wish to improve their English language for communication, work or travel. Classes are available from elementary to advanced level, with class allocation determined by our internal test. The programme focusses on vocabulary, grammar and covers the skills of Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking. All Campbell students receive free weekly one-to-one language workshops as part of the programme.
General English Example Timetable
IEL TS preparation Prepare for the internationally-recognised IEL TS exam. This course focusses on the IEL TS Academic and General modules. Each week students can sit a practice paper and a practice speaking test at no additional cost. Campbell operates an IELTS Official Test Centre at a site in Auckland’s CBD. All testing at the centre is done online.
PTE Academic preparation Prepare for the Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) exam. The Pearson test has a fast turnaround of results, typically within five days. English skills are integrated throughout the test, which has been designed especially to meet the needs of English- speaking institutions and organisations around the world.
Cambridge preparation Prepare for the Cambridge: Advanced (C1) exam Balance of language development and exam preparation Each week students can sit a practice exam, and receive one-on-one support from a teacher
Pre-foundation Direct entry to the Victoria University of Wellington Foundation Certificate at ACG Pathways is possible for students taking our 12-week Campbell Pre-foundation programme. The internal test taken at the end of the programme (ACGEELT) gains students access to the foundation programme without the need to sit an external exam, e.g. IEL TS. The results of the ACGEELT will determine which stream of the foundation programme the student can enter.
Pre-vocational This 12-week programme enables students to enter a number of vocational providers that are part of the same group as the Campbell Institute, including: When students reach the end of their course, Campbell can receive a discount to sit an IEL TS or PTE Academic exam at one of our on-site test centres.
Demi au pair Combine English language study with working in a New Zealand home providing childcare. Live with your family and work for 20 hours per week, plus study for 15-20 hours per week. Weekly allowance, transport costs, and meals/accommodation included.
CEL TA The Cambridge CELTA (Cambridge Certificate in English Language T eaching to Adults) is a practical English language teaching qualification. This internationally-recognised certification enables graduates to teach English to adults in teaching institutions all over the world.
