  9. Large Schools 9 Unique challenges Social Distancing 6 feet social distancing limits classrooms to half capacity. Students must face forward, collaborative activities in the classroom must be altered, and one-on-one work between teachers and students must be limited. Capacity of 50 Spaces such as the cafeteria, theatres and gyms have a limit of 50 no matter their size. Temporary barriers are not allowed to create multiple spaces. Efficient Contact Tracing Large high schools differ from smaller schools. Students take thousands of different combinations of courses, increasing the number of contacts throughout a day. This makes contact tracing more difficult. Student Schedules Difficult to implement pods without changing and restricting course selections. Contact tracing is difficult because students must move around the school to access their courses.
