NHS Long Term Plan New GP contracts
Long Term Plan – a summary • Ten year plan that sets out how the NHS will continue to operate and develop as a service fit for the future. • Focuses on delivering world-class care and developing services that will reduce health inequalities, enable people to have the best start in life and age well. • Significant funding will be invested into areas such as primary and community care to drive improvements. • Local engagement – residents and local groups will get an opportunity to help shape how the plan is implemented in Haringey. • The NHS Long Term Plan is available on the NHS website (full version, summary and easy read version).
Extra £4.5 billion to be invested in primary and community care by 2023 • Additional staff to help GP practices work together as part of local primary care networks. • Help to reduce avoidable A&E attendances and admissions • Increased funding in digital technologies
