My Grandfather, F. E. Stafford, worked in Shanghai, China from 1909 ‐ 1915 as a printer & photographer and part ‐ time evagelist. An exhibition of his photographs was held in 2001. Another will be held in the summer of 2008 in Hong Kong. Frances E. Stafford, Shanghai, China, 1910

Francis Stafford Posing with Qing Imperial Army Troops. Being a foreigner with a press badge, he was able to mix with both the loyalists and the nationalist rebels. The rebels won and the last dynasty ended.
