Our plant in Dudley is specialized in carbon steel welded tube production. It spreads of an overall surface of 28,000 square metres of which 11,500 square metres are covered. Last year Marcegaglia UK has manufactured about 65 thousand tonnes of products, and we expect to reach 70 thousand tonnes by the end of 2012. Our production is ISO 9001 certified by SGS since our establishment in 1996, and today we employ about 110 people. In 2011, we have faced a domestic market that has registered an apparent consumption of steel of about 10,4 million tonnes - that means +4.8% compared with 2010. Half of the steel demand has been supplied by imports - that is 5.6 million tonnes. The first one offers a barrier coating of 10 to 40 microns and it is suitable for severe corrosion resistance in straight or minimal forming applications. Both lacquers can be applied to cold rolled, hot rolled - pickled ore pre-galvanised/Sendzimir tubes. This means that it is possible to combine the “coating” with many steel grades and thicknesses. Focusing on the processing stages, the first step is the cleaning . The process of cleaning is carried out within 3 stages: first: alkali detergent wash at 50 degrees Celsius second: rinsing with demineralised water at 70 degrees Celsius third: drying with air knives and heated blowers at 600 degrees Celsius. 14 More than automotive: new dimensions, new coatings in carbon steel tubes - Julie Ingram, Marcegaglia UK

Now let’s move on to applications. and for furniture construction, including shelving systems , where we can offer a combination with anti-fingerprint color hue flat material by Marcegaglia.
