Molonglo Valley Planning • Framework established under the ACT Planning Strategy and ACT Territory Plan • Land development in the Molonglo Valley is planned in three stages Stage 1 (Wright, Coombs, North • Weston) • Stage 2 (Denman Prospect and Molonglo) • Stage 3 (Whitlam and suburbs north of the Molonglo River)
Land Release Program • The ACT Government's Indicative Land Release Program (ILRP) ILRP identifies 3,025 dwellings sites for • release from 2017-18 to 2020-21 in Wright, Coombs, Whitlam and the first release in the Molonglo Group Centre in 2020-21 • Release in Denman Prospect are additional to the numbers in the ILRP

Whitlam • First development in Molonglo 3 • Identified in ILRP for a 2018- 19 release – 500 dwellings. • Estimated 2,100 dwellings, delivered in four main stages. • Includes education, commercial and retail opportunities.
Stromlo Leisure Centre • ACT Government has committed $33 million to the construction of a 50 metre pool in Stromlo Forest Park. • The RFT for the design and construction was released on 6 September 2017 and closes on 7 November 2017. • A construction contract is expected to be awarded in late 2017, with the construction to be completed in late 2019. • Early works have already started with the overflow car park in Stromlo Forest Park and with trees and large rocks being relocated to other parts of Stromlo Forest Park.

Remaining Part of Site • The ACT Government will proceed with a Territory Plan Variation on the remaining part of the site, Block 3. This will restrict certain uses including: – residential care accommodation – supportive housing – retirement village • The Territory Plan Variation will change the precinct map and code prohibiting residential uses of Block 3. It will be released for public consultation soon. • Block 3 is scheduled for sale in 2018-19. The purchaser will be required to provide a community activity centre of 120m 2 Gross Floor Area. • A Community Needs Assessment was prepared to support the planning change and community activity centre. It is available on the Taskforce’s website.
