Best Buddies Advisor: Ms. Bator and Ms. Cashdollar Location: TBD Best Buddies is the world’s largest organization dedicated to ending the social, physical and economic isolation of the 200 million people with IDD. For individuals within this community, Best Buddies helps them form meaningful friendships with their peers, secure successful jobs, live independently, improve public speaking, self-advocacy and communications skills, and feel valued by society.

  22. National History Day NHD is a project based competition for Social Studies students based on an annual theme. Students create a paper, documentary, performance, website or exhibit. There are local, state and national competitions. Advisor Mr. Crompton in room 214

MHS Drama Theater Workshop Meeting on B Club Priority Fridays (and other times TBD) In Room 508 Ms. Denton & Ms. Duva, co-advisors Mission: fostering a lifelong love for creating, producing and appreciating artistic performances (drama, poetry, dance, vocal and instrumental) Objectives and Activities: Pre-audition info sessions, possible guest speakers, etc. ● Planning and preparation to support all MHS Drama Department productions ● Generating a safe, creative space for students to share their performance work ● Playing and experimenting with improv and theater games ● All students are invited, especially those who plan to be in our shows!

  26. Gay Straight Alliance is a safe, Advisor: Mr. Haardt friendly, and social school environment for queer or questioning students, friends, and other supporters. Come as you are :). Activities include: practicing leadership, “Day of Silence”, “In the News”, picnics, movies, speakers, politics, friendship and more.

MHS Drama Knights presents Film & TV Study: Watch & Review Meeting once a month on C priority days in the Auditorium & Room 508 Mission: To have fun experiencing the art & science of motion pictures. ● For all legit FILM & TV buffs who want to WATCH and LEARN! Phones are powered off before club starts ● Students WATCH the movie (not a “socializing” club) ● Objectives: To enjoy and appreciate a wide variety of new and classic films. ● ● To look at culturally, historically, & aesthetically significant films. To appreciate the language of film and how to critique media. ● ● To produce, and screen original student works for peer feedback. To continue advocating for film study class. ● ● To eat popcorn and snacks.
