MET Values

Our family of schools will be bound by a shared set of values:

Highlights for 2017

  • Witchford Village College formally joins the Trust (April 2017)
  • DfE approves The Cavendish School (April 2017)
  • Impington Sports Centre Ltd becomes MET-Living Ltd (July

2017)

  • Impington Village College secures GCSE outcomes which

place the college once again in the top 10% of schools in England

  • Excellence work undertaken by the Trust team to develop the

work of the Trust (Fran Difranco, Amanda Hartwright and Alasdair Perrin)

Impington Village College

  • Outcomes in 2017 placed the College in the top 5% of

schools nationally (KS4 progress)

  • The college’s self-evaluation is that it is now

‘Outstanding’

  • Strongly positive external review by Phil Garnham (LA

Adviser)

  • 264 First Preferences for September 2018 (against

PAN of 240)

  • Post-16 continues to develop (IB and BTECs), plus

scholarship programmes (football)

  • Developing very strong programme of staff well-being

Witchford Village College

  • Outcomes dropped in 2017 with P8 significantly below

average

  • Attendance, an Ofsted key issue, dropped in 2016-17

to below 94%

  • The Principal and Vice-Principal left at short notice

before Christmas

  • Action plan in place to improve behaviour, teaching &

learning and put in place new curriculum and pastoral structure for September 2018

  • Interim arrangements for 2018 with a new Principal

MET-Living (MET-L)

  • ISC Ltd became MET-L Ltd in July 2017,

amalgamating Impington & Witchford Sports

  • We now have staff working across both sites
  • Will eventually comprise all ‘non-school’

activities across the two sites (and beyond when others join)

  • FDF is currently overseeing the development
  • f MET-L in his new role of Chief Operating

Officer (COO)

The Cavendish School

  • Formal approval from DfE granted April 2017
  • A Steering Group (led by DJ) is overseeing ‘pre-
  • pening’ and has a project plan to ensure successful
  • pening
  • Surveys and pre-build briefs have been drawn up
  • We now plan to have 80 on roll starting from Year 3
  • Building work should commence later this year and

we still hope to open in September 2019 but…

MET – The Future

  • Growing into primary to encompass all phases and settings;

we are engaging closely with four local primary schools

  • Approached by St Ivo as one of a number of prospective MATs
  • Developing the work of the Morris Teaching School Alliance

(initial teacher training, professional development and school- to-school support)

  • Working to create stronger Trust-wide activities, building on

the successes we have had with IT (and to include Finance, Site and eventually HR)

  • And the challenge remains of reducing expenditure and

securing increased funding/income

– Joanne Garner, Worldwide FC Biovia (a Dassault subsidiary) – Keith Thompson, former Group HR Director Ultra Electronics

  • December 2017 – Kate Brierton steps down

– Many thanks for a critical contribution to establishing the MAT

  • February 2018 – new trustee:

– Victoria Stubbs, Chief Risk Officer, CBS
