What does Title I mean? ▪ Sandy Springs Charter Middle School participates in the Title I, Part A, Section 1116 of the "Every Student Succeeds Act" (ESSA) School-wide program . ▪ We are provided federal funding to ensure all students have the opportunity and innovative resources, to meet or exceed state, local, and national assessment expectations. ▪ Title I funding impacts every student at SSCMS by reducing class size and funding professional development.
What does Title I include? ▪ Title I Budget (Title I Funds approx. $350K) ▪ Parent and Family Engagement Plan ▪ School-Family Compact ▪ Parent Resource Center ▪ Parent University Workshops ▪ Building Parent and Staff Capacity ▪ Spring Input Meeting for all Stakeholders
Title I Budget Who do Title I funds benefit? How do we spend Title I funds? • Title I funds are spent on teachers, instructional coaches, additional teachers, professional development, training and technology resources (i.e. technology subscriptions). • Every student at SSCMS benefits from Title I funding, resources and our School- wide Plan. • All families are welcome to use the resources in our Parent Resource Center and attend our Parent University Workshops. There is a 1% set-aside budget to be used for Family Engagement. Families are invited to give input at the Annual Spring Stakeholder Input Meeting.
