  1.  Courses taken for both high school and college credit  May take courses here at HHS, on Edison’s campus, or through Edison online  Students must meet with Mrs. Merickel, School Counselor, and complete a set of requirements to qualify for CCP

  2.  We are delighted to continue our partnership with Edison State. For many years our students have taken courses through Edison, both on the college campus, and at Houston High School.  One college means one set of requirements to meet for all CCP courses, both at Houston and at Edison

  3.  Attend mandatory CCP meeting with Mrs. Merickel  Request CCP courses on your Course Request Sheet (will receive on February 3)  Submit Intent Form by April 1 of the calendar year in which the student wishes to begin participation in CCP.  Apply to Edison  Take Accuplacer test at Edison (may also use ACT scores)  Bring Accuplacer scores to Mrs. Merickel to discuss course options and build schedule for the following year  Complete Edison registration paperwork with Mrs. Merickel to enroll in courses  Attend Edison orientation

  5. CCP DETAILS  Ensure each of the CCP Admission Requirements is fulfilled. Always ask questions if you are not sure of what needs to be done next. This is a major step in the responsibility the student must take for their education.  Be aware that scheduling conflicts may occur when working to make a course plan for a student between two separate entities; Edison does not make their schedule around Houston and vice versa.  Students may not exceed 30 semester hours per year between high school and CCP courses  Edison offers summer courses. These count as part of the upcoming year (30 hrs.)  Must take into consideration athletic eligibility when scheduling  Before a student may enroll in an online course at Edison, there is an online workshop that must be registered for and completed.

  6.  Once the student begins the course at the start of the year, they are locked into taking it for CCP credit (one week window to drop the course and/or CCP).  Courses are for both high school and college credit. Therefore, grades earned in CCP courses will be part of HS transcript/GPA/class rank (letter grades)  The student/family is responsible for reimbursing the school district for all costs associated with the course, if the final grade is lower than a “D.” This becomes a school fee, and must be remitted in order to participate in graduation, receive a diploma, and have final transcripts released to colleges.  If a student fails a course, there is a probationary period and process for re- entering CCP. Avoid failing courses by seeking help early.

  7.  Talk to your teacher/instructor early if there are any issues with a class  For help with all questions CCP related, see Mrs. Merickel  Students can stop by the office during their study hall, lunch, or before or after school  smerickel@hardinhouston.org  937 295-3010 ext. 2002  Check out the Counselor’s Office site under School Info on the HHS website http://hardinhouston.org/guidance-office/  Once you are a CCP student, you become an Edison State student as well  Christina Raterman, Admissions Rep: craterman@edisonohio.edu Students may seek additional advising at HHS from Mrs. Raterman as provided  Stop by the Student Services office  Main phone number: 937 778-8600  CCP Website: https://www.edisonohio.edu/College-Credit-Plus/  CCP FAQs from the ODE: https://www.ohiohighered.org/ccp/faqs
