  2. Mandates The Committee on Housing and Land Management (CHLM) is a forum for exchange of best practice and a platform for policy formulation and implementation in the field of housing and land management

Mandates The Committee on Sustainable Energy is mandated to carry out a programme of work in the field of sustainable energy with a view to providing access to affordable and clean energy to all, in line with the “Sustainable Energy for All” initiative of the Secretary - General, and to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and the carbon footprint of the energy sector.

Mandates The Group of Experts on Energy Efficiency (GEEE) focuses on activities that, in line with the "Sustainable Energy for All (SE4All) initiative of the United Nations Secretary-General, help significantly improve energy efficiency in the region, thus contributing to climate change mitigation efforts, and strengthen regional cooperation in energy efficiency, with a view to reducing greenhouse gas emissions

  5. Mandates • The Working Party on Regulatory Cooperation and Standardization Policies is a forum for dialogue among regulators and policy makers. The Working Party addresses technical regulations, standardization, conformity assessment, metrology, market surveillance and risk management. • It promotes a holistic partnership on all phases of regulatory action, from standards setting all the way through regulatory enforcement.

  6. Outcome of the expert consultation (1) 1. As an outcome of the Expert Consultation on Energy Efficiency Standards in Buildings (Geneva, 20-21 April 2015), it was proposed to establish an Informal Task Force on Energy Efficiency Standards in Buildings. 2. It is proposed as will be a joint Informal Task Force with the participation of experts from • The Committee on Housing and Land Management • The Committee on Sustainable Energy (and its Group of Experts on Energy Efficiency), and • The Working Party on Regulatory Cooperation and Standardization Policies.

  7. Outcome of the expert consultation (2) Approach: The Informal Task Force will address issues on energy efficiency codes and standards in buildings. Immediate tasks: To complete the survey report. The deadline for replying - to the survey is open until 15 May 2015. The survey report (pre-final draft) will be completed and presented by the end of May and finalized by the end of June. , further the report will be drafted by end of May and published during the summer. - To complete a short workshop report.

  8. Outcome of the expert consultation (3) Further activities: To map standards and prepare a gap analysis, - - To investigate funding opportunities, - To elaborate a concept note on energy efficiency standards in buildings, - To seek feedback from the UNECE member States through relevant meetings.

  9. Outcome of the expert consultation (3) • The informal Task Force on Energy Efficiency Standards in Buildings will establish partnerships with key partner organizations active in the UNECE region. The following organizations will may be invited to cooperate.
