Purpose Evaluate the usefulness of a 5 minute PowerPoint (PPT) presentation by Dermatology applicants Faculty’s viewpoint of the PPT presentation on rank selection Effect of PPT on applicant rank decision Confirm other factors reported important in candidate selection
Methods 62 applicants from 2015 ‐ 2016 were emailed surveys Applicants 40.3% response rate (25/62) Faculty 92.3% of response rate (12/13)

Conclusion Faculty ‐ PPT presentation is a useful tool in candidate selection Applicant ‐ PPT presentation was a positive experience with a mild impact on their rank selection Other programs may benefit by implementing into their interview selection process Faculty agreed the oral PPT presentation was: Worth the time investment Provided a better overall understanding of the applicant during the interview Would recommend it to other programs
