Purpose  Evaluate the usefulness of a 5 minute PowerPoint (PPT) presentation by Dermatology applicants  Faculty’s viewpoint of the PPT presentation on rank selection  Effect of PPT on applicant rank decision  Confirm other factors reported important in candidate selection

Methods  62 applicants from 2015 ‐ 2016 were emailed surveys  Applicants  40.3% response rate (25/62)  Faculty  92.3% of response rate (12/13)

Conclusion  Faculty ‐ PPT presentation is a useful tool in candidate selection  Applicant ‐ PPT presentation was a positive experience with a mild impact on their rank selection  Other programs may benefit by implementing into their interview selection process  Faculty agreed the oral PPT presentation was:  Worth the time investment  Provided a better overall understanding of the applicant during the interview  Would recommend it to other programs
