Implementing O.Reg.179/06 • Delivery: • Recognize lots of record and solutions to allow building • Pre-consultation to minimize technical requirements • Provide “in-house” service monthly • Established working protocols for shorelines, drains, outlets and Lagoon City retaining walls • Online Mapping • Zero overlap or duplication of building code • Support / complement the implementation of local by-laws • Failure to circulate works requiring LSRCA permit places liability on municipality 2 0 Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority
Permits in Ramara • Average between 50-80 annually • Average 10 homes annually • Only issued 1 permit to Ramara in 2015 and 2016 • Most permits relate to shorelines, drainage and related works • Provide Ramara with “blanket” drainage outlet maintenance permit when requested • Will provide Ramara with 5 year permit for municipal drain permit when requested 2 1 Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority
Fee for Service Grading • No permits for grading of roads – only applies to grading works for development sites Culverts • Permits have always been required since 2001 • Only for stream / drain crossings New homes • Existing permit fee did not cover costs • Permits for houses in most regulated areas are complex to allow construction to occur 2 2 Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority
Fee for Service Continued… Lagoon City Retaining Walls • Minor permit ($150) if following Ramara Bylaw Planning Fees • Lowest cost compared to neighbouring CAs • Supported by BILD including Simcoe County chapter • Believe in a partnership approach – solutions oriented 2 3 Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority
