Anthrax in Georgia • Anthrax cases are registered among animals and humans every year • Mostly sporadic cases occur but outbreaks are registered as well • Currently we are seeing an increasing trend in morbidity • Since 1881 up today more than 2000 affected points are registered • Increasing number of affected areas is acute problems for country • Since 90s up today more than 300 of B. anthracis strains have been isolated National Center for Disease Control & Public Health www.ncdc.ge
