King’s Cross Transport Update Charlotte May, Travel Plan Coordinator Wednesday, 25 March, 2015
Travel Plan Coordinator • Employed since Nov 2014, to promote sustainable transport - to/from/across estate. • Works closely with Argent’s Sustainability Team. • Implement, monitor and report on Area-wide Travel Plan • Support new and existing occupiers to develop organisational TPs and green travel.
TPC role • Linking green travel to occupiers’ corporate priorities. • Identify and address opportunities to further enhance sustainable transport (eg cycle parking, pedestrian safety concerns, wayfinding) • Green Travel Forum every two months. • Liaison with LB Camden and Transport for London.
Area Travel Plan • Surveys show levels of walking and cycling are high. (Varies from business to business, and according to land use). • Scope to increase further • Programme of green travel events for 2015 and beyond (eg Dr Bikes, Exchanging Places, Walk to Work, Car Free Day).
Exchanging Places Working with schools …..and LGV drivers (Safe Urban Driving )
