Increasing and Maintaining Sustainable Participation Conclusions • Participation levels are higher in rural areas • Participation levels are lower in the more populated urban areas • Participation levels decline steadily from U12s to U14s to U16s to Minors to Seniors – 43 in 100 are playing U12s Football – 36 in 100 are playing U14s Football – 34 in 100 are playing U16s Football – 27 in 100 are playing Minor Football – 11 in 100 are playing Senior Football – Small exceptions: LESS CLUBS NOW THAN IN 1971 WE ARE IN A 1971 TIME-WARP IN TERMS OF PARTICIPATION RATIOS How many clubs will be in existence in 2036 ?
