Meet Gordon Novak! The Detroit Gun Club would like to take this time to recognize this young man for all of his achievements in Skeet for the past several years! Gordon has been shooting Skeet since 2009. He is graduating from Durand High School this year and plans on attending Ferris State University where he will study heavy equipment engineering. In 2011 Gordon was the Event Winner in the 12 Gauge at the Michigan State Shoot at the age of 13!!! He has made a State Team every year since 2011. In 2015 Gordon was the Captain of the Michigan State Team, the 2015 High Average Leader in the 28 Gauge, and the 2015 28 Gauge AAA 1 st Champion at the World Shoot! Currently, Gordon is the Captain of the Junior National Team and he is Nationally ranked 13 th overall in the country! When I asked Gordon what his favorite thing was about skeet he replied…all of the people and friends you meet along the way
HOUTTEMAN WINS IT AGAIN….. Under sunny skies with 123 entries on Sunday, May 22 nd Matt posts a score of 96 to win the Sporting Clay tournament. The draw # for the jackpot was 4 and Matt won that too!! Matt and Kelly are expecting their first baby at the end of June. Congrats Matt-you are unstoppable!

D.G.C. STOCK FOR SALE Are you interested in becoming a Class “A” member? We have acquired some of our stock back as some of our older members have passed and we would love to get some of this stock in our active member’s hands! Right now our Board of Directors is offering D.G.C. Stock for it’s normal price of $500.00 per share, but reducing the transfer fee to half of it’s normal cost. ($250.00 instead of $500.00) This would mean instead of paying $1000.00 total for each share you would get it for $750.00. If you are interested please see Scott, Debbie, or one of our Directors!
We have known Mike Stewart for over 36 years. I don’t think I have ever heard the word “NO” come out of his mouth. Stewie is one of the most kind-hearted, make you feel good kinda guy! We have vacationed with, shot with, golfed with, fished with, partied with, laughed & cried with Stewie and his awesome family! All in all he is one GREAT guy! He has always treated myself and my family as his own…heck he even co -signed for Brian & Angie’s 1 st apartment! Stewie has always been an active supporter of our club. He has sat on our Board of Directors for several terms. He is also responsible for much of the woodwork in the club. Stewie owns and operates Studio Design & Millwork in Utica, MI which is a family owned & operated business. Stewie is very active w ith his boys in hockey and is a Coach for the St. Mary’s Shooting Team! Thanks Stewie for all you do, and most of all for WHO YOU ARE! - DEBDOLL
