  3. Sub Committees • Maximum of 4 sub-committees • Proposal – link with existing Council structure • 3 Municipal Districts and Metropolitan District. • Gardai are examining option for drawdown of information based on this model. 16/10/2015 3

  4. Sub Committee Make -up • Members of Municipal District or Metropolitan District as appropriate. • Members of the Oireachtas if they express a wish to attend. • Local Garda Superintendent. • Director of Service for District. • Community Representatives. 16/10/2015 4

  5. Meetings • City and County JPC – Quarterly meetings • March / June / September / December. • Sub – Committee Meetings – Quarterly Meetings • February / May/ August or first week September / November. • This will allow for feedback from Sub Committee to main JPC. 16/10/2015 5

  6. Community Representatives • 7 Members on JPC – sectors agreed last meeting. • Representatives will be selected through PPN • Suicide Related issues. • Youth Services • Muintir Na Tíre • LGBT • Drug and Alcohol Support Information • Ethnic Minority • Children's Services 16/10/2015 6

Community Representatives (contd) • 7 sectors as outlined. • Ideally, these should breakdown across the 4 Districts, with at least 1 in each Municipal District and 3 in Metropolitan District. • Scope for additional Community reps at District level on Sub Committee. • Municipal District 3 – 1 or 2 from JPC plus 1 or 2 others • Metropolitan District 6 – 3 or 4 from JPC plus 2 or 3 others 16/10/2015 7

Meetings • JPC Sub Committee to meet on same day as Municipal District or Metropolitan District Meeting monthly meeting is held, either before or following completion of meeting but at a specific time. • Sub Committee should be chaired by Member from that District who is also a Member of JPC. 16/10/2015 8

Linkages between JPC and Sub Committees • Feedback from Councillors on Sub Committee through their District members on JPC. • Feedback from Community Representatives on Sub Committees through their Members on JPC. • Feedback from local Garda Superintendent to Chief Superintendent. • Feedback from DOS to C.E 16/10/2015 9

Sub Committee Agenda • Sub Committee could examine:- • Local issues • Also each Sub Committee could examine a Strategic Theme and report back to JPC. • Examples • Roads Policing and Road Safety • Policing Communities. • Public safety and Personal Safety • Misuse of Drugs and Drug Related Crime 16/10/2015 10

  11. Strategic Themes • Strategic Theme could be allocated to District based on Garda statistics – experience / JPC Members experience of local demands. • Feedback to JPC based on recommendations from Sub Committee. 16/10/2015 11
