Welcome! Thank you for joining us for this practical, interactive session demonstrating LASA’s new Safety & Quality Management System. We will demonstrate how the SQMS will: • support your organisation transition to new standards • safeguard your compliance to the new standards • provide a better way to manage front line processes • support best practice, consumer-centred care
Why the system was developed • To support providers transition to new standards • To guide providers in their policy and process reviews and help them identify gaps • To support providers create a single repository to store and share policies & procedures with staff • To move away from older system that use paper and files on shared drives - to a real-time web-based system for easy access anywhere, anytime to policies and processes for staff, consumers and suppliers using multiple devices
How the system was developed • Selected a technology partner with experience in social care sector • Co-designed with residential and home care providers • Gathered needs, wants and preferences • Tested the system with end users to confirm: • business requirements • system design • system functionality
Content features • 60+ policy and process proforma for every requirement in the new standards Examples of policies you may not have: • Antimicrobial stewardship • Open disclosure • Supporting consumer to exercise choice and take risks • Diversity and cultural safety • Management of high-impact or high-prevalence risks
System features • Use your own branding and “own” the system • Accept the policies as they are, edit or delete them • Upload additional policies and processes • Create links directly to and from each policy/process • Cloud based – 24/7 access to anyone registered • Networked back ups • Consumer and supplier access • Plain language – we followed the KISS principle
Let’s take a look at the system in real time
Phased rollout Phase 1: policies and process guidance (February 2019) Phase 2: create procedure flowcharts, upload and save additional policies and documents like videos, photos, registers (July 2019) Future releases … our vision: • Dashboards • Compliance audit tools • Customer survey tools • Evidence mapping • Staff compliance reporting
Conclusion • One flat annual subscription fee with unlimited users • No installation costs – its cloud-based • Cost is tiered based on organisation size/revenue • Cost is provided on application • We’ve worked hard to make this system affordable for smaller providers
