  2. v In Indonesia, the estimated number of people with dementia is approximately 1.2 million in 2016, expected to increase to 2 million people in 2030 and 4 million people in 2050 v The economic cost for Indonesia as one of the middle-income countries is estimated to reach US$ 2.2 billion a year (Alzheimer’s Disease International World Alzheimer’s Report, 2016)

  3. v Kick starting youth engagement initiatives in Indonesia to raise awareness of dementia v Universal language v Reduce stigma v Music is therapy for both Caregiver & PWD v Promote the ‘10 signs of dementia’ v Encourage youth to start developing healthy lifestyle v Biggest youth movement in Dementia Friendly Communities in Asia Pacific and real experience with PWD.

TOTAL: 160 Participants • Total 6 Sessions • Musicians Volunteers age range: 20-50 years: 15 people. • Professional Volunteers (Atma Jaya University & Survey Meter) • Alzheimer’s Indonesia: 6 people. • Total PWD: 4 at Home Visit + 100 at Nursery Homes (not yet detected) • Total Caregivers: 10 Family Caregivers (Home) + 20 Nurse/Social Workers (Nursery Homes)

  5. • For a country with massive musical diversity such as Indonesia this project shows opportunity to create more social, physical, emotional engagement through inter generation activities.
