UCAS - What is included in the application? • Personal details and previous schools You can choose up to five choices • You can apply to the same university for more than one course • Your previous and predicted qualifications • • Personal statement (why are you choosing that major?) One reference from your teacher / counsellor • Some degrees may have additional requirements. •
UCAS What do we look for from Personal Statements? • Passion and interest for chosen subject • Extra‐curricular activities • Personal qualities: make these relevant and give evidence • Career exploration, work experience • Try to stand out – and don’t plagiarise ! • 4000 characters. One statement to all your choices
How to apply: Decisions and responses For students who apply by the January 15 th deadline, universities will respond by March 31 st . Successful students receive: • A conditional or unconditional offer. Applicants then respond by May 1 FIRM choice, 1 INSURANCE choice, and decline others
