THE COMPANY ICT is a manufacturing company, created in 1999. It specializes in FRP and polymer concrete products for corrosive applications, particularly in electrolytic cells The ICT team comprises a select group of experienced specialists led by a management with more than 20 years experience in the frp industry for corrosive applications ICT is aware of the quality-related problems currently found in the polymer concrete cells available on the current market, particularly those stemming from electrolyte leakage . One of the main objectives of the company is to produce, among other products, a cell of outstanding quality that will be able to overcome the problems and improve the quality of polymer concrete cells available on the market. The outstanding quality of ICESA polymer concrete cell is supported by three key elements : 2 2
THE KEY ELEMENTS ICT LICENSE AGREEMENT KNOWLEDGE EXPERIENCE VINYLCRETE TECHNOLOGY OUTSTANDING QUALITY 3 3
KNOWLEDGE EXPERIENCE and ICT contributes with two of the three elements which are the key to success of their products. A significant number of the current ICT team members has been working together since the early eighties under diferent company names, finally becoming Icesa in February 1999. The high degree of knowledge demonstrated by the company in the fabrication of electrolityc cells is the result of the specialized studies, training and work experience obtained in Australia during the seventies by members of its associate directors. This knowledge and experience was transmitted to workers who are now an integral part of the Icesa team, a team with over twenty years of experience. The Icesa team has had an important participation in the development of the frp and polymer concrete in Chile, the introduction of Kabe-O-Rap, filament winding, dual laminate and vinylcrete technology being their most outstanding achievement. 4 4
KNOWLEDGE THE VINYLCRETE CELL INCORPORATES A SOLID SELF- SUPPORTING FRP LINER IN THE INTERNAL SURFACE, WHICH SETS THE DIFFERENCE FROM OTHER POLYMER CONCRETE CELLS EXPERIENCE EXISTING ON TODAY´S MARKET PACKED GAS COOLING TOWER FABRICATED FOR CODELCO´S SULPHURIC ACID PLANT AT EL TENIENTE, RANCAGUA, CHILE. THE TOWER IS ONE OF THE LARGEST IN THE WORLD MANUFACTURED IN HOUSE AND TRANSPORTED TO SITE AS A SINGLE PIECE. MADE IN 1997 BY MEMBERS OF THE ICT TEAM 5 5
TECHNOLOGY ICT MANUFACTURES THE CELLS USING A UNIQUE AND NOVEL TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPED IN AUSTRALIA BY STODDART BROS. PTY LTD. THIS TECHNOLOGY IS PATENTED IN CHILE AND SEVERAL COUNTRIES AROUND THE WORLD 6 6
THE VINYLCRETE TECHNOLOGY THE TRADITIONAL THE PATENTED FRP POLYMER CONCRETE LINER AND CELL USES A VERY MANUFACTURING THIN PROTECTIVE METHOD DEVELOPED IN COATING TO AVOID AUSTRALIA, NOT ONLY LEAKEAGE THROUGH ELIMINATE THE THE WALLS LEAKAGE PROBLEMS, BUT ALSO IMPROVE THE OFTEN THIS THIN BARRIER THERMAL PROPERTIES CANNOT WITHSTAND THE OF THE CELL SEVERE ACTION OF THE ELECTROLYTE RESULTING IN UNWANTED AND EXPENSIVE LEAKS 7 7
FABRICATION PROCEDURES MOULDS SYSTEM THE UNIQUE TWO-MOULD SYSTEM USED BY ICT ELIMINATES THE INTERNAL WALL STRESSES PRODUCED IN THE POLYMER CONCRETE DUE TO THE CURING SHRINKAGE OF RESIN. THESE STRESSES ARE AGGRAVATED BY THERMAL SHOCKS DURING OPERATION RESULTING IN HAIRLINE CRACKS WHICH FINALLY ALLOW LEAKING. 8 8
FABRICATION PROCEDURES MOULD SYSTEM ICT FABRICATES ITS OWN MOULDS AND PAYS SPECIAL ATTENTION TO ACCURATE DIMENSIONING AND SURFACE QUALITY 9 9

FABRICATION PROCEDURES THE FRP LINER ICT WORKERS APPLYING THE FIRST LAYERS OF GLASS REINFORCEMENTS TO THE MOULD 11 11
FABRICATION PROCEDURES - THE FRP LINER THE FRP LINER IS A ONE-PIECE SELF-SUPPORTING STRUCTURE THAT: • ENSURES A LIFETIME LEAK-FREE CELL • GREATLY IMPROVES THE MECHANICAL CHEMICAL AND THERMAL RESISTANCE OF THE CELL ICT WORKER REMOVING T HE FRP LINER FROM THE FIRST MOULD ICTWORKERS PLACING T HE LINER IN THE SECOND MOULD WHERE T HE POLYM ER CONCRET E M IX IS POURED. 12 12

UNIQUE DESIGNS THERMAL INSULATION ICT HAS DESIGNED AND DEVELOPED AN EXCLUSIVE SYSTEM CONSISTING OF A SEALED AIR CHAMBER TO MINIMIZE THE HEAT LOST THROUGH THE CELL FLOOR 14 14
FABRICACION PROCEDURES INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR FINISH A STAINLESS ST EEL NAM EPLATE WITH T HE DETAILS REQUIRED BY T HE CLIENT IS PLACED ON EACH CELL AS A RESULT OF THE SPECIAL CARE PAID TO MOULD CONSTRUCTION AND THE UNIQUE FABRICATION METHOD USED BY ICESA, THE SURFACES OF THE CELLS ARE SMOOTH AND POLISHED TO A MIRROR FINISH. THIS IS A GREAT ADVANTAGE FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF CELLS AND THE RECOVERY OF SLURRIES IN REFINERIES 15 15
SITE INSTALLATION - ARRIVAL OF CELLS AT SITE ICT PROVIDE SUPERVISION, LIFTING DEVICES AND ASSISTANCE ON SITE TO ENSURE THE SAFE UNLOADING OF CELLS 16 16

CELLS PERFORMANCE - ANDACOLLO COPPER EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE OF THE VINYLCRETE CELLS AFTER FIVE YEARS OF CONTINUOUS OPERATION AT ANDACOLLO, AN ELECTROWINNING FACILITY IN NORTHEN CHILE. THERE IS NO RECORD OF LEAKAGE OR FAILURE IN ANY OF THE VINYLCRETE CELLS FABRICATED THROUGHOUT THE WORLD, SINCE ITS MANUFACTURE STARTED IN AUSTRALIA IN 1993 18 18
THE FINAL PRODUCT Lifetime leak - proof Greater mechanical strength Greater impact resistance Free of maintenance EXPERIENCE KNOWLEDGE TECHNOLOGY Outstanding chemical resistance Improved thermal resistance LOWER OPERATIONAL AND MAINTENANCE COSTS 19 19
